2012, Sony Fixed Focus On Android Smartphone


Sony Ericsson will focus on upscale products and smart phone operating system Android in 2012. The move was taken after the Sony and Ericsson officially divorced.

Until now, the portfolio of business phones Sony Ericsson Xperia phones still 80 percent and 20 percent of non Xperia phone. In the year 2012 there is a desire 100 percent to make smart phones.

Marketing Communication Manager of Sony Ericsson Indonesia, Hanny Sanjaya explaining products and Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Live with The Walkman will be Sony Ericsson's latest product in 2011.

"Indeed we have not decided for 2012 will be like. But we will focus on selling smart phones (smartphones) Android is more entertaining special," Hanny said after a press conference at the office of the Sony Ericsson Jakarta, Wednesday (11/09/2011).

Android operating system was chosen because it has a large market share. Moreover, the trend of gadget users are also more like Google's operating system is. However, Hanny also said the Sony Ericsson is still an opportunity to use another operating system according to changes in lifestyle gadget enthusiasts globally.

The desire to focus to smart phones, continued Hanny, was thought by the Sony Ericsson globally since 2008. Although after the crisis, the Sony Ericsson mobile phones are still selling the low end and middle end, but their focus to expand the smart phone market share of top class also getting bigger.

According to Hanny, the desire to focus on upscale smart phone is because the Sony Ericsson does not want to compete with other vendors, especially those playing in the segment of low end and middle end. From the results of research and development of Sony Ericsson Global, it is difficult to get profits from the sale of the lower classes, let alone many of China's mobile assault.

"Later we will focus on selling mobile phones in over USD 2.5 million and will not sell phones at a price below that," he explained.

Although will remain focused on business mobile phones, Sony Ericsson has not decided to wear a particular brand name in 2012 this business line will synergizing with the Sony center. Line of business phone is also going to become an independent division at Sony center and will be synergized with computers (PCs), televisions and Sony's previous tablet.

2012, Dell and HP Tablet Use Windows 8


Although Windows 8 is still in development stage, Dell and Hewlett Packard (HP) have decided, next year they will use the Microsoft operating system on their tablet products.

Decisions that may be too early is taken in the heat of the tablets price competition from all vendors. Who started this price war is Amazon with its Kindle Fire. Amazon tablets are sold at a very cheap price, 200 dollars.

Since the Kindle has taken segment Fire "tablets very cheap", a conventional computer manufacturing, such as Dell and HP, trying to find a new niche among Android tablet that is "cheap" and the iPad tablet that "expensive".
