Affairs office of patents and trademarks the U.S. on Wednesday (26.10.2011), announced that Apple is entitled to a patent for a mechanism to open or activate the phone lock mode phones. This mechanism is known as the "Slide to Unlock".
Gesture 'unlock' this fact has been known for a long time, but became popular since Apple used in its smartphone products, the iPhone. "To open the phone, I just use my finger and sliding it sideways. We made something that makes you not do something untoward when the phone is in the bag," as stated by Steve Jobs at the launch of the first generation iPhone in January 2007.
Currently, the sliding motion (sliding) to activate the phones are commonly found on smartphones and Android tablets, although with a sliding mechanism that is different. But with this patent, any device that uses a sliding method to open the device on the touch screen means that infringe patents owned by Apple.
Other cell phone vendors particularly those using the Android operating system certainly will not stay silent in the presence of this patent. It will be increasingly "enliven" the legal battle about the patents in the mobile operating system, especially between Apple and Samsung.
