Raw Food Diet, Is it safe?


Eating raw food (raw food) is now the choice of a number of people. Selected types of food is grains, vegetables, nuts, fruit, and so on.

Currents that underlie the outbreak pengonsumsian food is still raw, it is a concept that says the human body is not designed to accept food that has been cooked.

Foods that have been through the cooking process is also called has lost nutritional elements that are not healthy anymore. Raw foods are also believed to remove toxins from the body naturally.

Some raw food diet adherents also believe that this diet can lose weight, make the skin healthier and fitter body.

However, there are fears of this diet, the presence of bacteria and pesticides that may still be stuck in the food ingredients.

"With the condition of ground water as it is now, I do not recommend a raw food diet, raw food unless it is first washed with boiled water," said Idrus Jus'at Ph.D., dean of health sciences faculty of the University of Esa Superior.

Idrus also refuted suggestions that states could eliminate cooked foods nutritional elements of food.

"If the boiled vegetables, which will change only element of vitamin C, but not so much is lost. Except when boiled until soft," he explained.
