So Android Entertainment System in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner

The application of sophisticated gadgets on airplanes is not new. Some time ago some airlines in the United States are allowed to change their flight manuals with iPad, such as printed manuals, safety checklists, logbooks, navigation charts, weather information, and airport diagrams.

It seems that the success of the iPad is now followed by Android. Software from Google that is commonly used in smartphones and tablets were selected by Boeing to become the platform of entertainment on the plane (in flight) on a future series of aircraft 787 Dreamliner.

Reported by the Australian Business Traveller, Mark Larson, manager of Boeing's Dreamliner Gallery techniques, all Boeing 787 is now in the process of production will be equipped with a server-based Android and the touch screen. All the 787 Dreamliner being configured now get Android as an entertainment system in the plane.

For business and executive class, the Android-based entertainment system will not use the touch screen because the screen is very wide and far from the reach of the passenger. Instead use a simple motion sensor of the hand so that it can control the entertainment system. For economy class touch screen panel is placed in the back seat with a wider perspective than the touch screen available today.

Touch-screen entertainment devices will be provided Thales and Panasonic who have received a certificate of entertainment devices in the aircraft. Both companies will also be a supplier of ready-made server. Both companies will also provide screens ranging from 7 inches to 17 inches. Boeing 787 Dreamliner also provide space for the socket to provide connectivity with a laptop and a USB port for economy class.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a medium-bodied aircraft capable of carrying passengers as much as 200 to 350 people, depending on seating configurations. Boeing 787 Dreamliner claimed more fuel efficient than the previous generation of Boeing aircraft. According to Wikipedia, these aircraft use Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and General Electric GEnx engines 2B-12 innovative. The aircraft also has the latest version of the Honeywell radar designed to monitor the weather in front of the plane with a distance of 100,000 meters (100 miles).
