Make food fatty IQ Kids Down


Parents who want their children smart advised to reduce intake of fatty foods, sugary, and contain a preservative during the first three years of age children or so-called golden period (golden period).

From the womb to age three years, the baby's brain develops very rapidly. That's why good nutrition is necessary for brain growth and intelligence.

A study showed that children who were given fatty foods, rich in sugar, and preserved foods had higher levels of intelligence (IQ) is lower compared with children who got rich in vitamin and mineral intake.

"We found evidence that consumption of foods high in fat, sugar, and berpengawet closely related to low IQ scores in adulthood," said Kate Northstone, researchers from the University of Bristol.

In his research, Northstone and his team collected data 3966 children born between 1991 and 1992. Parents and children were questioned about their child's diet at age 3, 4, 7, and 8.5 years. Then the child's IQ was measured using a standard that applies when the child is 8.5 years old.

In general, the diet of children were classified into three groups, namely food is "processed" rich in fat, sugar, and delicious food, the second group is the food "traditional" high, meat, and vegetables, and foods "healthy" which consists of vegetables, fruits, salads, fish, rice, and pasta.

Children are often mengasup processed foods at the age of three years mememiliki lower IQ at age 8.5 years compared with children who are healthy diet.

The researchers also found the diet of children at age 3 years have more influence on intelligence than on the age of 4 or 7 years.

Nutritionist Samantha Heller says, in the golden period of the brain requires a critical component to function and develop optimally.

"The brain needs nutrients derived from healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Parents who are busy usually often do not have time to prepare healthy meals for their children and replace it with fatty foods are more appealing boy," he said.
